若者が主張したらしたで「生意気だ」「甘えるな」と言われ、主張しなかったらしなかったで「内向き」「覇気がない」と言われる。このダブルバインドというのもまた、非常に機能不全家庭的だ。この現状に、「どうせ何をやってもダメだって言うんだろ」と言い、閉塞感を感じる若者は多い。
だが、逆に考えると、「どうせ何をやってもダメだと言われるんだから、何をやっても良い」ということにならないだろうか。何をやってもやらなくても評価結果が同じなら、そんな評価目線など気にせず、開き直って、自分の好きなこと、やりたいことをやれば良い。
機能不全家庭に育った子供は、自分で自分のことを育てていかなければならない。自分が取るべき行動は、親がどう思うかではなく、かといって、親に対してなんでもかんでも反発するのではなく、自分の成長にとって必要かどうかで判断すれば良い。機能不全家庭に育った子供は、親の目線から解放され、開き直った時にその本領を発揮する。今の若者に必要なのは、「連帯の作法」云々の前に、良い意味での開き直りだと思う。
何をやってもダメだと言う人々は、何も言っていないのと同じだ。どうせ何も言っていないのだから、そんな人々のことなど気にせず、好きに生きれば良い。
